I agree that it is not all roses and sunshine at first. But knowing what's possible is indeed a great motivator. For me personally, I think that if anyone were to start a business, they should factor these points into their game plan. And strive for profits at soon as possible. I don't believe that the average entrepreneur should model the companies which take years to become profitable (ie. Twitter). But rather go out, hit the pavement and start making some money. Most of this kind of thing doesn't happen in a start up, and not for a long time thereafter. Still it's good to have a vision of the lifestyle that's possible from having a business--a successful one that is. This post can be a great motivator.
